The Artist
My goal is to create for you a beautiful, heirloom quality oil portrait to last generations.

In order to deliver your portrait to the highest standards, I use the following procedure: The portrait process begins with a collaborative meeting to discuss wardrobe, mood, poses, and setting for your portrait. A 1-2 hour sitting is then scheduled in a studio setting or at your home or office. The sitting will involve a digital photo shoot, under studio lighting in a variety of poses and lightings. A sketch (approx. 11” x 14”) will be presented for your approval before the painting is begun. This sketch will show the colors and composition of the portrait and must be returned to the artist as a reference from which to create the finished portrait.

Portrait fees start at $1000. Pricing is based on the following: the number of people or pets in the painting; how much of each subject is to be depicted; the size of the actual painting itself; the intricacy of clothing, jewelry, and props, and the complexity of the background setting. Additional figures are discounted at 50%, pets may be included for $500 each. Travel expenses, shipping fees, and any state or city sales tax, where applicable, are additional. A deposit of 50% will be due when you sign the contract. The balance is due at the completion of commission and acceptance by the client.
